Thrifted Dresser to a Coffee Bar

It is no secret that I have a small kitchen with barely any counter space. Hence the large black bookshelf that holds everything from cookbooks to dry baking goods.

This picture is a little old, but the bookshelf is still there. 

A few weeks ago I moved our microwave that was on the counter to the top of the fridge and it was practically revolutionary. I had space on the counter! I don't know why I hadn't done it sooner. Then for Mother's Day, my boys bought me a Keurig coffee machine because sometimes in the afternoon I just need a cup of coffee and this way I didn't need to make a full pot. Love it. But now it was on the counter in the same place the microwave had been and I didn't want to give up that free space. 

Cue the dresser from the thrift store. 

I found this little beauty on a Saturday afternoon at our local thrift store for $35. I texted Jesse a picture and once he gave it his go ahead, I paid for it and loaded it into the back of the truck.

I loved that it was solid, the shape of the legs and the detail on the drawers. 

I may paint it someday, but for right now, the white works for me. It's easy to wipe off if coffee spills on it and it doesn't stain. 

I put the little k-cups into a plastic apothecary jar that I had around the house. 

I printed off some free art found on Pinterest to hang above the dresser as well as making a little hoop art.

We love this little coffee bar area in our dining room. It makes pouring a cup of coffee in the morning a little bit more special and now I have free space on my counter in the kitchen!
