I love smoothies, and I also love smoothies that boost your immune system! So not only are you drinking a delicious smoothie, but it is also super healthy for you.
Here is a recipe I tried a few weekends ago when my husband and I were fighting colds, and not only did it help us get over our colds faster, it tasted delicious!
Berry Spinach Smoothie
makes 2 small smoothies
1/2 cup pomegranate juice
1 cup fresh baby spinach
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
1/4 cup fresh blueberries (optional garnish)
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add more juice if needed to blend. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
I find if my husband is requesting me to make a recipe after I have tried it, it is a success, and he has asked me to make this more than a few times! It is very easy to make, and great if you are in a rush for a quick breakfast or snack on the go! And even though the recipe calls for baby spinach, once everything is all blended you hardly notice the spinach is in there too.
That looks really interesting. Did it need any sweetening or did the banana provide that? We just bought a Ninja blender - I'm looking forward to firing it up!

Congratulations!

I didn't find the smoothie needed extra sweetening at all! I usually add a bit of honey to most smoothies I make, but tried this without, and found that it didn't need it.
DeleteMy husband bought me a ninja blender (how romantic), but it is one of the best kitchen appliances I own! I blend my daughters baby food in it, smoothies, frozen yogurt, potatoes... I know you'll love it!
Thank you for nominating us! I'll definitely check out your blog! :)
sound divine - I'm a huge fan of adding spinach and other dark leafy greens to smoothies! If you ever sweetness, a touch of honey is nice.
