Spring Backpack

I have been looking for a backpack for Bella for a while now. She loves purses (what girl doesn't?!) and backpacks are no exception. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything around here that was the proper size, well-made, or covered in princesses or hello kitty. Since I have this wonderful book, I decided to make the backpack that's pictured on the front, except make it my own. I used fabric that I had on hand for the lining and the outside of the bag and bought a large 18" zipper for the outside.

 I gave Bella the back pack for Easter and she absolutely loves it! It's nice for me since she can carry her diapers, wipes, zippy cup and snacks in there when we go out. Here is the backpack and my little cutie modelling it:

If you are wanting to make your own backpack, there are a lot of great tutorials out there. If you're making this one, it's a great pattern to have. Just make sure you read through the directions completely before starting to make sure that you have all the pieces. Otherwise, you'll end up like me and have to do everything a couple of times so that you can get it right!
