The Home Office Reveal

If many of you don't know, I actually run my business from home. This is great for me since it frees up a lot of time that I would spend driving. My mom is fantastic and actually watches my girls for me whenever I need it.

There are some downsides. 1) I have to keep my house beautifully clean for when my clients come over because I don't want them to see the dirty dishes in my sink. 2) It takes a lot of time to clean my house when you have a toddler running behind you undoing all your hard work while the baby screams in the background. 3) I really shouldn't complain, because I love my job!

With our whole basement being renovated over the winter, unfortunately my office got torn apart and seemed to be last on the list of "fixing". For a while it was a dumping ground for everything that didn't fit into the garage, including at one point four couches. I didn't realize we had so many couches!

Over the last few weeks, I've been spending every spare minute down there moving furniture around, repainting, putting trim up (thanks to my wonderful hubby!), and finding furniture for my room.

But it's finally done! Well, mostly. I still have to organize my closet but that's for another day. Here are some pictures of my hard work. I hope you like it. I would have liked for the lighting to be better but unfortunately, I can't have everything!

My beautiful thrift store chairs. They work wonderfully!





The colour for the room is actually called "Cloud Blue" and makes the room seem quite warm. 
The floor has the tile that we placed in the whole basement. 
The carpets are faux sheepskin from Jysk and were $10 (score!). 
The desk was from Liquidation World and was bought three years ago. 
The fabric for the curtains was from Ikea and was found in the "As Is" section. The total cost for the curtains, including hardware was $15. I chose to go the easy way with them and use clips for the tops instead of sewing loops and only hemming three sides of the fabric. (I'll show you how to do that later, but it's pretty self-explanatory)
The two chairs were bought from a local thrift store for $25 each. I'm still looking for a good office chair for myself.
The pictures on the wall are from calendars. I placed them in frames I got from Ikea originally.
The hydrangeas are from Michael's and the vase is from the dollar store.
The chalkboard was $5 from Staples.
