I do love winter, don't get me wrong, but I love the kind of winter where the snow flakes are coming down softly, the hot chocolate is in my biggest mug, our wood stove is on and my husband and I are cuddled up on the couch watching movies while our girls sleep peacefully in their beds. (I think that has happened maybe once?). The kind of winter that we are having around here is cold, grey, not a lot of snow and a lot of wind. My husband is away for work and my girls are grumpy and not sleeping. My 2 year old had four temper tantrums this morning before 9am.
One of my favourite things to do when the weather is like this is grab a cup of coffee and plan what I would like to start doing in the spring to freshen up my home. Spring is new beginnings (and when my husband will be home to help me!)
These are some of my favourite pins to help inspire me to clean and decorate my house and know that the winter will not last forever, and that maybe I should take some Vitamin D.
My husband and I are planning on removing our deck and pool this spring so we needed some good ideas for landscaping.
I'd like to focus more on gardening and landscaping this year. I love herbs!
I love this idea instead of a console table in our front entry way. We currently have a wooden bench there but I find I never sit on it and it just becomes a dumping ground for coats and bags. Perhaps if I had a designated area this place would stay cleaner?
This last one is to remind me that winter does not last forever and not to wish my time away, but instead enjoy it and be thankful for my nice warm house and for the moments I have with my two little sweeties!
