A Decorating Process

Five weeks ago today I gave birth to another beautiful little girl. Since then, it's all been about adjusting to having two little ones instead of one. Because of that, things tend to get put off.
One thing that I'm hoping this blog will give me is accountability to get things done! The first thing on my list is finishing Sienna's nursery (actually I'll be honest ... starting the nursery).

I've been pinning inspiration for her room for months now and I'm hoping that over the next two months, it will get done!

I'd love suggestions and advice on how to do it especially since the room has a few quirks.

Here is what the room looks like now: (please don't judge me, this was my office before!)

And here is my inspiration board:

I'll keep updating over the next two months and then I'll post pictures of the "after".
Remember, suggestions are definitely welcome so please comment and give me your great ideas!

  3. Love, love, love the triple ruffled crib skirt. I also like the comphy looking chairs. My rocking chair was way too hard! You definitely want something soft especially in the middle of the night. Don't be too hard on yourself, I'm sure it isn't bothering Sienna too much that her nursery isn't finished yet.

  4. I definitely see shelving in that weird little inset area. . .for special books, breakables, things that you won't want little toddler hands on but would like to have in the room. Below it (as she grows) you could have a framed chalkboard area or something since you probably wouldn't want any furniture along that short wall.
I love the soft colors you have chosen and the bold red dresser. Don't be too hard on yourself. . .going from 1 to 2 takes lots of adjustment (not to mention the adjustment to your body!).
Glad I found your blog. . .I will be back :)

  5. Thanks ladies! I'm going to try painting today.. we'll see if that works out!
Dana - I love the ruffled crib skirt too! I just have to find the perfect fabric for it!

Jennibell - That little inset area is definitely strange. Those are some great ideas though! The area is about 3ft deep so its awkward. They previous owners also carpeted it!
